For this week’s Religious Socialism post, we lift up and link to a new Philadelphia Inquirer profile of our own RS Working Group member Rev. Charles “Chaz” Howard. Chaz, the longtime chaplain at Penn and now also a vice president of the university, is the author of, among other books, Black Theology as a Mass Movement. The article, “Leading Penn’s Faith Effort in a Pandemic: The Soft-Spoken Chaplain with a Big Presence” is available here.
Look to our RS blog and social media for more soon about Chaz’s writing and activism around
Black liberation theology and democratic socialism.
